braincollege.com brings your world and takes you places...
Site purpose
Look carefully. It's your world. You've got to take
it, you've got to make a point. You've got to be
seen, heard of, waited, expected and respected.
That's why a site like this has come up.
It's for everyone who cherishes the experience.
www.braincollege.com is a website specially
designed for students of all levels and
backgrounds to meet with their demand for a
modern magazine that blends into the IT age to
give more meaning to the student experience as a
whole. It's a place that fosters creativity,
provides valuable information and acts like a
Hosting by Yahoo! Web Hosting
medium for the vibrant exchanges that add flavour and depth to the youth
community. Here is a magazine that cuts across boundaries: universal access,
global readership, high reader participation, learning-centred and purposely built
to thrill, inform and enlighten the boisterous information age students.
www.braincollege.com is a bilingual site. Only fools should complain about that.
This only enhances your communication strengths in English and French. Long
gone are the days when learners snub one of these important languages for
experience has shown that your chances of fulfilling your life socially,
professionally and politically are doubled if you can handle more languages,
whether you are a Cameroonian, Canadian or not. The present pope, Benedict
XVI speaks eleven languages. Language-friendly people have been the greatest
contributors to social peace i n every part of the world. Your grandma can easily
prove that to you. So, we'll be bilingual. It's a blessing and not a burden.
It hurts a lot to create sizzling pieces of writing and have no one to read them.

Get into your drawer compartments and blow the dust off those inspired poems,
commentary and short stories that have been lying in the dark with spiders as
sole critics and bring them out to www.braincollege.com to let the world know.
You don't pay for having your stuff here and you are not paid for having your
stuff here either. But occasionally, you could win prizes. There are lots of prizes
to be won either as a reader or a writer. What's more important however is the
experience you'll gain from writing, from studying the writing styles of others,
the popularity you could build from having your name and contributions in the
site often and the doors they can open for you.
We are decent people, a fine breed of forward-thinking men and
women. We, here refers to everyone, from site sponsors through the
contributing student masses to the anonymous reader tucked in the
outskirts of Tierra del Fuego, we believe in decency. This medium will
be highly engaging but shall not entertain obscenity, calumny and dirt.
Let's be true to our calling. We don't need to be shy, we'll speak out.
Staying quiet can be regrettable as well as talking rubbish. In 1994 in
Rwanda, the media and people spoke the wrong stuff. That incited
hatred and ten months later, they had slaughtered 800,000 of their own
brothers and sisters. In the late eighties and early nineties in Cameroon,
people didn't speak out. The result was frightening: shiploads of the
country's wealth was wired to vaults in Europe and the Caribbean,
houses and lives were destroyed violently in a strange kind of politics.
The country was inches away from civil war. The result: one of Africa's
wealthiest countries was termed a "highly indebted poor country". It's
necessary to talk decently.
Outrageous!
Send to us outrageous group or solo photos from school or the hood. They should be wild, stylish, brave, strange but decent and safe.
Francais: Here's the French home page on which you'll see links in
French in order to ease navigation for those who start from French.
Contests: Here you can find quizzes, prizes to be won, competitions and
lots of stuff you can take away. You can submit other contests you
know of. www.braincollege.com will be showcasing its prizes to be won
on this page. External contests are welcome.
Scholarships: We'll make available to you current scholarship information
so that you can explore and exploit every available opportunity for your
growth.
Science: Sodium glutamate and moon walkers meet here to see if
someone's been to Pluto yet. If you lead an experiment and discover
something interesting, here's the spot to blow your trumpet. Don't tell
us you've isolated the teacher virus that's responsible for school flu and
if you conduct a juju dance and discover that light does not travel in a
straight line, thank you for not telling us your sorcery.

Study tricks: A lot of us don't know studying is a skill that ought to be
learnt. There are many "tricks" in the art of study. You may finally meet
the one that suits your system on one of these pages soon. Some people
seem to read all the time but can't understand a thing. Others pay
attention only for a few minutes and then play the rest of the time.
Then they make it! Why? You'll be shown the tricks-freely.
Poetically correct: There is no writing nobler than poetry and no
person nobler than a poet. Publish your poems here. Criticise poems
here and be poet laureates too. Prizes...
Jokes: All the fun can come in here. He who laughs lives longer.
Religion: Here, you could tell us an aspect of an ancient religious
practice, say how faith defines you but don't tell us  which church is
better. Tell us how someone tried to fool you into a school sect and
how you survived but don't be dishonest and do not exaggerate.
