1) Essay
Write an essay of 350-400 words on a personal
experience that changed the way you think.
Essays can be submitted up till September 15,
2006 at midnight. Results will be announced on
December 30, 2007 on
www.braincollege.com
The Essay contest is open to students in Form
1- Upper Sixth in any African secondary
Great prizes lie in wait...
school. For you to be eligible, you must be enrolled in or not have
graduated from an eligible school by May 20, 2007. Unnecessarily high
flown language will not gain marks. Clichés will help you loose points. Be
original and stay focused on the topic. Plagiarized material will be
disqualified. The essay must be your original work written without adult
supervision. (Most adults don't write good essays, so don't even bother
them.) There should be clarity in your writing. Submissions should be
emailed as a Word attachment to
editor@braincollege.com
Don't include a picture at this stage. We'll request your photo when the
proper time comes. Include your full name, date of birth, class, school
address and a contact telephone number.  ESSAY CONTEST should be
clearly stated at the top of your submission. Upon receipt of your essay,
a confirmation email will be sent to you. Participation is FREE. We may
request additional information from you at the time of prize-giving.
The prize is USD 40 and shall be paid in cash or as part of student fees
for the next academic year.

2) Remarkable Contribution
Everyone who submits an article for publication on braincollege.com is
an automatic entrant to this contest. Contributions will be judged and
the best of them will receive prizes ranging from MTN and Orange
communication credits, writing materials, books, t-shirts, gifts and lots
more. As BC is monthly, so shall prizes be dished out on a monthly basis.
3) My story
For every published true story under this section, the writer receives a
the sports jersey of either FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, Manchester
United, AC Milan or a worldcup team jersey.
4) Novelette
For every published fiction story under this section, the writer receives
the sports jersey of either FC Barcelona, Chelsea FC, Manchester
United, AC Milan or a world cup team jersey plus a public profile page.
5) Poems
Original poems published will fetch for the poet a framed version of
their poem and a luxury gold tinted pen.

6) Content Quiz
The quiz shall be based on the content of the month's publication. The
first quiz questions will appear at the end of June 2006. Interested
participants should study all articles and sections of the site in detail.
Correct answers will fetch sports t-shirts.
