THE BURGUNDY WEDDING
One bright summer afternoon, two friends were brought together in holy matrimony. The city foundations shook, friends marched, birds sang and the masses witnessed with admiration... Saturday May 27, 2006 Holy Family Parish church, New Town, Limbe, Cameroon...

Weddings are always fine moments but ours was an extraordinarily fine moment. The length of the bridal train put us in the local history books. There were eight (08) bride's maids and eight (08) groom's men. It's not too often that such an array of charm and elegance is put up, even on a global scale. (On this shot, the Best Man, Chimassa Blaise is absent.) It couldn't have been shorter. We've got a set of wonderful friends and they all wanted to mark this special day for us. One of the great lessons we've learnt from our wedding is this: You come to know who you really are and what you represent in your community on your wedding day. If you've got a skeleton, someone will definitely spread it out on that day. Your fans and detractors sell their personal tales about you and before you know it, ten thousand people have read your biography. Nowhere to hide any longer.

Wedding Funnies A Name We codename this wedding the Burgundy Wedding thanks principally to Melvine Wajiri, the other boys 'n girls . They'd asked us what colour of ties they would wear. When told, burgundy, it took some of them time to figure it was a colour. And out of fascination for the word, they jokingly called everything associated with the wedding; burgundy. Thus we had burgundy planning meetings, burgundy haircuts, burgundy ladies, burgundy reception ...and most naturally the place was soaked with burgundy wine! Whither my groom? Have you noticed there's no little groom in the photo? Daniel Malange was supposed to accompany our charming little wonder, Cece but he didn't show up 'cos his mother was so busy with the decorations that she didn't have time to get back home to prepare him for mass. But he wasn't late for the reception march into a classy Lady Party Arena in Church Street and that took off the blushes from our little angel's face. Photo "misdate" Have you tried to download these photos? You must have wondered aloud at the date 01/01/2005 at the base. It's no forgery. Our wedding was on 27 May 2006 at 2.00pm. Digital photography man forgot to edit the date in his Nikon Coolpix camera in the maze of excitement.

Great lady, one in a zillion! Mrs Lilian Ntui poses to mark a milestone. Now the wind can blow and the trees will bow, the birds can sing and men will listen, the sun can shine and flowers will...blossom.
